"I prepared a little article about my trip to ICHF where my student took a first place. December 8, my 15-year-old student from Sunvill Academy, George Alai, and I went to the New Year's Eve tournament in Petal, Mississippi. The tournament was organized as always at the highest level by Charles Walker.

On the evening of December 7, we arrived at Petal, we were received at the ICHF house-museum, we were given a room for us to rest before the tournament. A lot of people gathered, children with parents, children with coaches, there was a pleasant New Year atmosphere. A lottery ticket with numbers was distributed to everyone present. There were many gifts on the tables: bicycles, toys, books, and many pleasant surprises. My student won a huge unicorn, which inspired George to win the tournament as well. The tournament was held among boys and girls. There were a total of 9 participants. With each opponent it was necessary to play two games in black and white. George showed a brilliant result, gaining a 100% result, winning 4:0 from each opponent. Great Start!" Thank you, Vadym.

We were pleased to watch children drawing from the Money Tree... getting bikes, stuffed animals, toys, and having their picture taken with a Santa helper. The adults also enjoyed their gifts.

After a Christmas lunch there was a checker tournament. The only thing missing was YOU! We wish each of you a Happy New year, which will be great if you plan a visit to the INTERNATIONAL CHECKER HALL OF FAME !

We wish to thank all the folks who joined us to celebrate Christ's birthday! The children enjoyed the gifts, especially the giant teddy bears, bicycles, and drawing from the money tree.
